My 5 Favourite Makeup Brushes

Hello Everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted too recently, I've just been a little busy with exams and results and all the stressful stuff that's been going on at school. Today I thought I would talk about my top 5 makeup brushes, because when I first started out with makeup- I just didn't know which ones were useful, good value and good quality and now that I am a little more aware; I figured I'd share with you my favourites.

Real Techniques Powder Brush- This is a brush that you can buy individually for around the £12 mark and so far it is the best brush I have discovered for powdering your face, because it has such a large brush head and the fibres are all quite loose- it tends not to cake the product on your skin, however it does apply enough powder to set your makeup, It's relatively bulky, so not something I would carry around in an everyday makeup bag, but a real staple in my collection and one I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a new powder brush, or wears it on a daily basis.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush- This brush comes in a set of four that retails for roughly £20 and it is my favourite ever makeup brush. Again it is 'Real Techniques' but that is because I find that brand the best for good quality, but not high end expensive brushes. The buffing brush has a medium sized, dense head and it buffs foundation in like a dream. I find that with this brush, the product really sinks into your skin and makes your face look radiant, rather than sitting on your face looking cakey. If you are starting out with makeup then the set that this brush comes in would be a great purchase.

ZOEVA 127 Luxe Cheek Brush- This brush literally has the softest bristles ever and although the brand is more pricy than 'Real Techniques', the good quality is really evident, both in the chic appearance and the fantastic uses of this brush. Personally, I like to use it for bronzer but it could also be used for a light dusting of powder, blusher application or even a powder highlighter. It is generally just a solid all rounder and a real asset to my brush collection.

Real Techniques Angled Shadow Brush- Again, this brush comes in a set from 'Real Techniques'. I think the silver handle is gorgeous and the brush itself is great for blending all of your eyeshadow together. It is super soft, the perfect size and I always find myself reaching for it in the mornings,

Real Techniques Eyeliner Brush- Now, although this is called the eyeliner brush- I myself use it for eyebrows as the small, flexible brush head makes it really easy to use and convenient to just shove in your handbag. This brush could also be used for a multitude of purposes which is why I find it super useful. I would say it is my most used brush, as if I do any makeup- it will be my eyebrows, so I reach for this a lot!

Thank you so much for reading! What is your favourite makeup brush?

My Little Perfume Collection

Hello everybody,
So earlier this week, I was trying to sort through my bedroom; and was putting everything into little piles, when I realised that my perfume pile was rather large. Basically I have discovered that I have a mini perfume collection and I really love it! Usually they are all in different places so I spray whichever one I can find, but having them all in one place had made me re-appreciate each one again; so I thought I would share them with you!

MARC JACOBS DAISY DREAM- This is probably my favourite perfume that I have ever owned. It's such a classy, elegant scent and one which ca be appropriate for all year around. The packaging is exquisite and the perfume itself is a stunning shade of blue.
GHOST ECLIPSE- I love this perfume, as it has a fruity, floral scent and is so perfect for this summery time of year. The bottle is such a cute shape and I love the ombre of the perfume because I kind of think it looks like a sunset, haha.
INTIMATELY BECKHAM- This sweet little bottle has a surprisingly sophisticated scent within it. My friend gave it to me the other day and I haven't stopped wearing it. I also love the pink of the liquid against the gold detail on it's bottle.
VICTORIA SECRET LOVE IS HEAVENLY- Again this lovely little body mist is a fruity scent perfect for summer. A lot comes in the bottle so, I wear it lots. The peachy pink of it is so cute and goes with the summery smell.

Thanks for reading guys

Face of The Day: Soft Lips

Hello Everyone,
Today I thought I would do a quick FOTD (Face Of The Day) as these are always something I really enjoy reading on other peoples blog's and thought would be fun! Sorry if mine is inadequate compared to others, please bear with me as I get to grips with my camera and my writing. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post!

I think this look is perfect for the summer time, as it looks subtle, classy and involves light colours. If I was having a better skin day, I would have definitely given the foundation a miss, as the less product on you face- the better, especially as the weather is starting to heat up. I really liked this lip colour as it looks gentle and soft yet has a really vibrant shimmer!

Products on my face:
Foundation: Maybelline Dream Satin Foundation in Ivory
Concealer: Rimmel Wake me up in 01
Powder: Mac Mineral Skinfinish
Blusher: Mac Peaches
Bronzer: NARS Laguna
Eyebrows: Collection Work The Colour Eyebrow Kit
Eyeshadow: Naked 3 Palette: Mugshot on the lid, Nooner in the crease and Strange on the Browbone
Mascara: Benefit Roller Lash

Thanks for reading this brief little post! I hope you enjoyed it!

My Top 5 Beauty Picks

Hello Everybody,

Welcome to my new blog  'JustAliceElizabeth'; how exciting! I've been wanting to set this up for a while, and although right now might not have been the best time to do it, as I'm currently in the middle of my exams (sigh), I just really wanted to get going. So yeah, hi- I'm Alice and this blog is going to be mainly beauty and fashion based but also with a few more thoughtful posts where I can just share my feelings with the internet!

So I didn't want to do the typical 'Welcome' post where all I talked about was myself and my plans for this little blog, because let's face it- you guys probably don't really care, so instead I thought I'd let you get to know me, by sharing with you my top 5 beauty picks; as I think you can tell a whole lot about a person based on their favourite makeup items. So let's get going :)

Benefit Roller Lash

Now, I'm only a teen and while I do have a whole lot of love for makeup, I tend not to wear it 365 days a year, especially to school because, come on- that's a slight waste of good product when only your friends and teachers are going to see you. But in attempt to look slightly more presentable, I do often wear mascara, so it was inevitable that one was going to be in my top 5. I've always been a 'Maybelline' falsies kind of girl, but relatively recently I purchased this and I have to say that it has completely knocked all of my other mascaras out my makeup bag. I always hear people talking about the 'Roller Lash' and when I heard people say it makes you look like you are wearing false lashes, I would roll my eyes but now I have my own- I can honestly say that it does. I don't have long or curly lashes but when I wear this it makes them look incredible. It gives them a curl that lasts all day and separates without being clumpy. Love it.

NARS Laguna Bronzer

Oh my, this bronzer is everything one should be. Nicely packaged, small but with a big mirror, not too orange toned, a slight bit of shimmer and a good quality piece of makeup. I genuinely don't think I could live without this product, as it can be used to sculpt my cheekbones or to generally bronze my face. It is perfectly handbag sized and has a huge mirror in it that I use for makeup on the go. The actual bronzer is a perfect colour and tone, not to light but also not too dark. I actually like the little bits of sparkle in it as they aren't too noticeable but add a bit of subtle glamour to your look. I also like to use this product as eyeshadow, as it is the perfect crease colour, especially when I am also wearing it under my cheek bones as it really brings my makeup together. I have never yet found a better bronzer than this.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and on Bronze

This cream eyeshadow is literally my go-to eye makeup look and that's why it has made it into my top 5 beauty picks. There are so many days (and I hope you can relate) when I just can't be dealing with all the different eyeshadow colours and all the blending and all the time it takes to do eye makeup, so when my sister got me this and I tried it- I was amazed. You don't even need to use a brush, all I do is use my fingers to spread it all over the lid and done! Sometimes I do blend the edges with a fluffy brush, or add some other colours to it, but even when I don't, people always comment on my eyeshadow and it's only down to this! It lasts all day and is so worth the £5 (amazing value, I know!).

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

I don't know about you guys but I absolutely hate it when you get home at the end of a day and your makeup has quite literally sweated off your face. Yes I know it sounds vile and it also doesn't look great either. I don't have the time of day to be constantly retouching my makeup- I like to know that when I leave the house, the products I have chosen will actually stay on my face and so I use the 'Urban Decay' setting spray every single morning that I bother to do my makeup. I like the feeling that your makeup isn't sliding off but rather withstanding the test of time and sticking to you and this gives you that feeling. When you spray it it feels like a damp mist, but within seconds your face drys and feels no different to before you applied it, but I can honestly tell you that it does make a difference and it does work.

MAC Lipstick in YASH

This is my holy-grail lipstick! I adore 'Mac' lipsticks in general as the pigmentation is unreal and I had been trying to buy 'Velvet Teddy' (another MAC lipstick shade) for the longest time, so finally I just went into the shop and bought the closet match to it that I could. The only big difference between 'Yash' and 'Velvet Teddy' is that 'Yash' is matte, which I actually love as I find it helps it to stay on longer and looks classier; although I do avoid matte lips when mine are chapped. This is my dream nude lipstick and I wear it a lot more than any other one, which is why it is in my top 5 beauty picks. I've never heard any one really rave about this lipstick, which surprises me- but doesn't stop me being obsessed with it myself, haha.
